Fashion Talk! Peplum

Hello dear readers,

This Spring/Summer we will be revisit the Peplum trend from last year. The Peplum has actually been one of my most popular posts and its great to talk about it again for next season. We had peplum for Autumn/Winter 2012 in a more sharp and structured way, this new season will bring a more flirty style to them. As you might know this historical trend started to appear in fashion during the 1800 as a sort of short overskirt to emphasize the waist. It had its shiny moment in 1947 when Christian Dior debuted his ‘bar’ suit and jacket a wasp-waisted and hip-padded design.

To wear this peplum trend you have to be aware of your body type, if your fuller on the bottom it won’t do you justice, you should then opt for a peplum top. Combine the peplum top with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans. A fashionable color for next season’s peplum is emerald green. They are perfect for a party and to had that extra touch of glam.

  1. Peplums are one of those trends that I didn’t think I would like on me and now I own three peplum shirts. Stoked that they’re sticking around for Spring!
