Hello dear readers,
This saturday I was at York with my husband for a lovely day trip! In the UK I live in a relatively small town, it is a lovely place, but from time to time I do like to do my frolickings. If you get a change, do try the Ice Rink, at the Outlet in York, it looks like great fun. Now for a bit of history:
York city was founded in 71 AD by the Romans and they call it Eboracum. It was the capital of the Roman province of Britannia Inferior and the kingdoms of Northumbria and Jorvik. York is a beautiful walled city where rivers Ouse and Foss converge. It possesses a rich cultural heritage. It has a lovely cathedral which i had a change to photograph, see below.
As you can see from the above pictures, we had a lovely time. It was the weekend the Christmas Market was there, and it was filled with people shopping, having mulled wine, roasted chestnuts etc. There was live music on the streets, street carolers and quirky characters attracting us to their shops. It was fun! You feel very Christmasy! I only wished it had snowed. I tried the roasted pecan nuts and they were delightful, they taste specially nice facing the very cold weather we’ve experienced, accompanied by a cup of bailey’s cadbury or brandy cadbury hot chocolate, you pick! 🙂 Yummy!
Do visit York if you get a change! I had a lovely time there!
